Keeping In Touch

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:59 am

Just had my grandpa visit from Colorado. We had a great time and went to my sister’s 4-H dinner/auction. Every time he is here, I realize how little we stay in touch and how he won’t be around forever even though he is very healthy now. I was looking in easy ways to stay in touch. I have family that lives in the state but an hour or more from me and some in other states. I also have a best friend who lives out of state. I was looking into ways to make it easy to stay in touch. Google has some options with Google Doc, gmail, Picasa, and Google Calendar. I found another option for the following:

Keep and Share allows people from across town to out of the country to stay in touch. When gas prices are high, it becomes too expensive for some to visit family and friends in person. With the busy lives people lead and varied schedules it makes it hard to make time to talk on the phone. Email is great because it can be done any time. The trouble is that some email services limit the size of files. With all the options that Keep and Share have, that isn’t a problem. This is especially helpful with large digital photos. A photo blog is a way to share photos and add comments and other information to the photo.

I sometimes even forget to even tell my mom stuff that is happening and we talk several times a week! With a 2009 calendar that can be accessed from any computer, I can give my mom, grandpa, and anyone else I choose access to my calendar and they will be able to know what I have been doing. Of course when family is involved, all calendar entries need to be “G” rated.

Keep and Share also works well for business because of its high security safeguards.

Home Based Franchises

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:02 pm

I’m working hard to create some passive income and be self-employed on the internet. For some, this isn’t their “cup of tea”. Looking into home based businesses that have the support they need is worth the investment needed. For people that are looking into home-based franchises, there are a variety of businesses to choose from to meet every budget and interest.

The reason people choose franchises:

  • Trusted trade name
  • Proven product
  • Training and support
  • Advertising material
  • Experience
  • Uniformity

I was just amazed at the number of types of franchises available. One type of franchise is a pet franchise. There are pet franchises from everything from pet poo cleanup to animal hospitals. There are endless options.

It is easier to obtain funding and a loan for a franchise because it has a proven track record so it will be considered less risky than loans for brand new businesses. Some franchises even have their own loan programs.

When you pay for a franchise, you skip the time it takes to establish a name and reputation. Not everyone can have a memorable name like “Schmuck”! It takes time to establish a reputation, trust, customer base, and the many other things needed for a successful business. For people who can get a hold of cash and don’t want to wait, a franchise is the answer.

My name is easily remembered, but it doesn’t have much of a reputation yet. “Schmuck’s Coffee” would catch your curiosity, but not much else. Hearing the “Daily Grind” is another story. Once you hear the name, you picture the neighborhood coffee shop and can almost smell the coffee. Might be in the running with other coffee franchises in the future…

Just like internet business isn’t for everyone, either is owning a franchise. Be sure to do research to see it having a franchise might be a way for you to have a home-based business.

Touch Panel Monitors

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:23 am

Touch screens are everywhere. The Wal-Mart where my mom works just changed to touch panel screens at their registers. I kind of wonder about the additional germs that are being passed around, if any. I bet someone could make money if they created a monitor cleaner that disinfects AND prevents germs from growing for days afterwards! Even if there is no additional risk of passing around germs and viruses, people who worry about stuff like that think there are more germs. They would buy a disinfecting monitor cleaner. If only the cat didn’t take over my second bedroom and bathroom, I could be in there creating such a concoction. Anyone who steals my idea…..please contact me so I can give you my Paypal account where you can deposit my portion of the profits-JK… lol.

With the touch screens, computing is done without a mouse or keyboard. It can be hard for older people who barely got the hang of “newfangled technology” to make yet another jump to touch screens, but with a little help in confidence building, even older people can adjust to and even like the changes.

In my grandma’s time computing meant something SO different from what it does now. I see sleek convenient equipment when I hear the word. In my grandma’s time computing triggered a picture of a room full of equipment. Now, people discard items (like the laptop I had to dumpster dive to get-BTW is still working great!) that were never even dreamed of by her and her peers.

I remember my brother teaching my grandpa about the simplest form of embedded computers, his new watch that seemed to do everything and came with a handy stylus. This was over fifteen years ago. My grandpa now has set up his own security surveillance system and we can access the cameras’ online to watch him and his horses on the ranch!

From simple clocks to systems that control nuclear plants, the need for embedded computers is growing. An embedded computing system is dedicated to specific tasks. The design engineers just love it because they have more freedom to optimize it, reduce the size and cost of the product, or increasing the reliability and performance. These people aren’t messing around making money with websites; they are out there making money mass-producing embedded computers.

I’ll stick with my online ventures unless I can get the cat out of the bedroom and bathroom.

Simplifying Payments

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:00 am

I’m all about automation and passive income. How else will I be able to hang out with my beautiful wife and future kids and still make the bucks? As of right now, I’ve got a few multiple sources of advertisers that pay me monthly that I can easily collect the payments on my own. However with my intention to grow and have a lot more people sending me their money. It will become an outsourced task, removing the burden of keeping track of who owes me. When that time comes, I’ll be looking into a way to automate payments.

I was told about PaySimple. I looked into why people are checking into PaySimple. Here are some of the reasons I found:

  1. Comfortable with using checks
  2. Don’t need a credit card for purchases
  3. Tired of paying our competitors’ fees
  4. Financial problems prevent having a credit card
  5. ACH (Automatic Clearing House) processing

A Merchant Account automates a bunch of stuff that I know I wouldn’t be interested in dealing with when I don’t have to! I just got back from visiting my mom and I want to keep having that freedom even when my business grows. The merchant account looks like something that would simplify things. That would work for me and it’ll work for my customers!

The customers that I would have are going to have Internet access, but there are those who don’t. With PaySimple some of the payment options include payments over the phone or with an echeck.

OK, enough of that, I need to get back to World OF Warcraft… I know nerd alert!

Small Business Opportunity

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:36 pm

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I haven’t been focused on my internet responsibilities I get behind. It usually happens when I play World of Warcraft too long-I just can’t stop because I’m sure it’ll only take about 5 minutes to go up to the next level. Of course, the next thing I know, I’m rushing off to work and afterwards doing errands that I should of been doing instead of playing. The only remedy is a late night at the computer.

The other day I was out doing those errands and I passed a candy vending machine (I just love Mike & Ike candy) and was thinking that there should be energy-boosting candy in the vending machine. I was really tired and had to catch up with my internet projects. If I could’ve, I’d grab one for then and have a few for later that night when I stay up catching up. Well, a few days later I see this ad for a vending machine that dispenses Buzz Bite chews-chewable chocolate “energy”. It’s like a cup of coffee in a piece of delicious chocolate! I wish it was me making the big bucks off this vending machine idea!

With Vending Machines you can have the following:

  • Business ownership
  • Flexible hours
  • A product to fill a growing new market
  • A business that can expand
  • Minimal time required
  • Free info kit

A vending machines is a great Small Business Opportunity for someone interested in having their own small business with a minimal investment. The people who are setting up these vending machines have a sweet business. What a way to Make Money, legally providing the world with an energy buzz! Plus it is wrapped up chewy chocolate…what a good life that could be!

As expensive as coffee and energy drinks are getting, I’d pick a 50 cent chocolate candy over coffee or an energy drink. Besides, those things will fit in my pocket…coffee can burn “stuff” while driving and those energy drinks can spill on my cheap keyboard then I’d have to dip into my gas money to replace it plus take the time to head up to the store.

Like most people, I almost always have a few quarters in my pocket, but don’t always have a few bucks for coffee or an energy drink. As these dang ridiculously high gas prices rise, I have to make sure my car gets its “energy drink” before I get mine.

I’m not sure when I’ll start seeing those chewy chocolaty bits of energy where I live, but I’m on the lookout for them and so are others.

Playing Free Online Games

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:55 pm

Every once in awhile, just relaxing and finding websites that allows me to play Free Online Games is a necessity. For example, on days like this one, the focus needed to work on my online website projects just isn’t there. When this happens, the search begins on finding a website to just waste time playing games. Today, the lucky website is www.online-games-zone.com. Not even being aware of it, I spent around 3 hours just playing these online games. Mainly spending my time playing sports games and racing games. My favorite has been Blood Boxing. You find on the sports games area. It is a very addictive game with it getting really tough in the higher levels.

For me Sports Games have been an all time favorite in mini online flash games. This site has many different types of sport games like soccer, boxing, tennis, pool, skateboarding, and hockey. All in all, kind of stating above my favorite is boxing games. For some reason, the challenge of avoiding the punches and laying some hits on the opponent is exciting. Well… as exciting as a game can be.

Normally, playing Racing Games don’t catch my interest but today about an hour was spent playing car games. The competition vs. the computer was thrilling. In most of the games played I was able to finish and beat the computer. I was really kicking the computers butt on the game “Wheelers – Motobike”. To bad, I didn’t have anyone else to play against if I did I would probably still be playing.

Enough time has been spent playing or talking about playing these free online games, it is time to hopefully get some work done. For the rest of the day, I was thinking of sending my writer some more articles that need to be done. It was great researching some keywords before playing these games because I was able to find some great keywords for some of my information website projects.

At this moment, I’m thinking about everyone that is working at a 9-5 job not having the option to waste a few hours just playing games and still be getting paid. I love being about to spend most of my time spending with my wonderful wife, playing games, working on projects (when I want). I would rather have the freedom from being an Entrepreneur than have the security from being an employee.

Tips and Resources of Making Money Online

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:14 pm

A friend of mine asked, “What tips and resources do you have on making money online.” With over 3 years of being an Internet Publisher, it is tough to have specific tips and resources to help others begin making money online. All my tips and resources seem like common sense and everyone knows them. But thinking more deeply, these are not known by everyone. With that in mind, I’ve been thinking about some tips and resources of making money online to help my friend and readers.

  1. Start Small Then Grow
With everyone trying to find the next big thing, it allows us smart one to realize we need to start small to expand our understanding. For example would be when you begin your career as an Internet Publisher. You should start small with a mini five page website to help you learn all the working of managing a website than after some experience expand to a larger website that has the potential to earn more. This concept can be used in many different circumstances.
  2. Limit Reading
You might of notice. It says, “Limit Reading” not “Stop Reading”. The reason for that is I know in the beginning you’ll need to be reading and learning as much as possible but don’t get caught in the trap of just trying to learn and learn without testing. You must limit your reading which will allow you to test new techniques rather it be in Affiliate Marketing, Designing, SEO, Programming, or PCC. Also instead of asking everyone else on forums if a technique works just test it out yourself.
  3. Stop Diversifying. Begin Focusing!
If you talked to most financial advisor, they will tell you to diversify. Then why would I be saying, “Stop Diversifying. Begin Focusing!” Focusing means putting your heart into what your passionate about. That is why before I would ever venture into real estate, I want to be successful online as an Internet Publisher. Diversifying means (to me) your spreading yourself to thin with to many subjects to learn and become an expert.

Resources
For those who need more information on making money online, these are the sites that I currently visit on weekly bases. If you look deeply, each one has many different techniques you could learn and test out.

Debt Management

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:39 am

In times of a bad economy, budgets get stretched and debt builds. Credit cards are a big contributor to debt becoming unmanageable. It is best to stay on top of debt before it gets overwhelming to avoid filing personal bankruptcy. When making difficult decisions regarding debt management, be informed about the following:

  • Paying off credit cards
  • Ways to get out of debt
  • Filing personal bankruptcy

PAYING OFF CREDIT CARDS

You may need help paying off credit cards if doing it on your own can’t be done in a timely manner. To pay off credit cards:

  1. Immediately STOP using your credit cards. There is no need to cancel them because it can have a negative affect on credit scores.
  2. Move the balance from the highest interest card to lower interest cards.
  3. Pay the minimum on the lower interest cards on time.
  4. Focus on paying as much as possible on the remaining balance of the high interest card until on the highest interest card until it is paid off.
  5. Repeat with next card in line

Change the process if you are focusing on credit repair. Get the credit card balance under half the available credit, then move on to the next card and do the same. Have the balance be safely under half so that monthly charges or interest won’t push the balance back up over the half way mark. Once all balances are safely under the ½ way mark, go back to the highest interest card and work on paying off the balance.

WAYS TO GET OUT OF DEBT

Debt reduction is a goal for almost everyone but everyone doesn’t have the self-control needed to reach the goals that will free him or her from debt. Debt counseling can reduce the time it will take to reduce debt and provided support and instruction on ways to get out of debt.

Don’t start any plan to reduce debt, until there is a commitment to not create any new debts. Ways to get out of debt:

  • Debt consolidation
  • Aggressive budgeting
  • Debt negotiation
  • Bankruptcy
  • Debt management
  • Debt counseling

FILING PERSONAL BANKRUPTCY

The word bankruptcy can be scary enough and the thought of actually filing for bankruptcy can be terrifying to some. Be sure to research all other options before choosing bankruptcy. If after researching, you decide that bankruptcy is the way to go, at least you can find peace that it really was the only way to get out of debt.

Common types of bankruptcy:

  • Chapter 7-liquidates assets to pay debt (some assets may be exempt)
  • Chapter 11-reorganizes debt for a business to maintain business and pay off debt.
  • Chapter 13-restructures debt to pay debt (some debt is exempt from restructure)

Avoid filing personal bankruptcy whenever possible. A bankruptcy can stay on credit reports for up to 10 years. This can interfere with getting a job that includes a credit check in the pre-employment screening.

Avoid unmanageable debt by getting out of debt as soon as possible.

E-commerce Business

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:57 am

Developing an e-commerce business has been a dream of mine for quite a while now but it always seemed so difficult and out of reach until Jon Waraas begun talking about his e-commerce projects:

More and more I read and researched, the more the drive within began to grow with one goal in mind… Develop a successful e-commerce! The past success with developing game, information, and blog websites will without doubt assist me in this new business. Another success that is rarely talked on my blog is the success of my father’s carpet cleaning business, which I have been able to watch him build it from scratch. Also with me being part of his business for the past five years has taught me many different aspects of a successful business rather it be online or offline.

The e-commerce business will be a co-owner LLC Company with my mother, Jan Ideas. It will provide a product to other Internet Entrepreneurs, which we have already tested and it sells like hot cakes. Ridiculously good-looking hot cakes! We both are very excited about developing this business together.

The launch of the E-commerce business is mid November 2008.
