1 2 3 AdSense “click and miss”
On the AdSense Blog, they have announced another precaution “Don’t run the risk of click and miss” that you need to follow and be aware of. It is called Click and Miss, which is unintentionally clicks by your visitors. This could be caused by you placing AdSense to close to features on your site such as:
- In close proximity to Macromedia Flash games
- Under pop-ups or download prompts
- Near site navigation controls on your pages, such as drop-downs or menu links
What’s next? Publishers can only have AdSense with a big blinking image above it saying, “Don’t click on me! Unless you really really want to learn about this subject on another site which Google thinks it is related.” Did you notice the advertisement by Google because they will advertise their name anywhere and everywhere?
All joking aside, I understand what Google is trying to do. They want their advertiser to be happy even if it is at the expense of their publishers because their advertisers are their assets and publishers are their liabilities.
Would you do the same if you owned Google?
